Cheng Yaojin – General Story
Cheng Yaojin rose to fame during the chaos at the end of the Sui Dynasty. He became a fierce protector of his people, leading a band of brave warriors and gaining legendary status.
He joined the Wagang Army, where his spear cut through countless foes, making him a formidable presence on the battlefield. His bravery reached new heights in the Battle of Mount Beiwang.
During the battle, a mighty general from Cheng’s side was struck by a stray arrow, on the brink of death. At that moment, Cheng charged into the enemy ranks. He rescued the fallen warrior and placed him on his own horse. As they made their daring escape, a spear pierced Cheng’s back, coming out of his chest. But Cheng did not fall. With a mighty roar, he snapped the spear lodged in his body, sending a wave of fear through his pursuers.
Later, Cheng found his rightful lord and achieved great victories that helped unify the Tang Dynasty. His valor earned him a place among the 24 heroes immortalized in Lingyan Pavilion.
