The Revelation of Maya event has been happening in Evony for some time now. This event not only spices up the game but also offers a lot of rewards. After some trials and explorations, I tried to summarize the strategy for this event. This article will be very comprehensive. It not only includes tips for clearing all stages and getting high scores but also introduces event rules, buffs, buildings, etc. in detail. Hope it helps you.
Rules in Revelation of Maya
This event lasts for 7 days every time it is opened.
You need to select generals and troops to dispel fog and defeat targets to enter the next level. There are 20 stages, and you can claim Revelation Chests when you complete the specific levels.
You will have up to 5 troop slots, and they can not be changed once you save them unless reset to level 1.
Generals’ basic attributes, skills, specialties, and ascending attributes will take effect in stages. The general who needs a dragon to activate corresponding buffs still needs to equip a dragon. But the dragon’s attributes will not take effect.
The remaining troops in your troop slots will be retained after each battle. Battles in the event will not affect your own troops outside the event.
All Runes and buffs in the event will not take effect outside the event except the Revelation Chest.
Scores Rules:
During the event, defeating targets, completing levels, dispelling poisonous fogs, and finally surviving troop amounts will all affect the points gained. And you can try to get higher scores by resetting and starting again.
If there are players with the same scores, the player who enters the event first ranks higher.
The correspondences of several exact scores are as follows:
- Mayan Warrior: 10
- Mayan Guard: 20
- Mayan High Priest: 40
- Dispel poisonous fog (green): 5
- Occupy Crescent Totem Tower: 20
- Occupy Typhoon Totem Tower: 50
- Occupy Poisonwood Totem Tower: 100
- Clear all stages: 4,000 (No other scores are included)
Rewards
Ranking Rewards:
If you rank in the top 1 to 5, you can receive Historic General Fragment (Caesar) and Mayan Gem/Art/Technology/War/Speedup/Resource Chest.
If you rank in the top 6 to 50, you can receive Mayan Gem/Art/Technology/War/Speedup/Resource Chest.
The higher the ranking, the greater the number of each reward.
Stages Rewards:
You can also get rewards at Stages 5, 10, 17, 19, 20. The rewards include Art Treasure Scroll Chest, Artwork Fragment Chest, Research Stone, 3 Hour Speedup for Training, and Runestone Chest.
The higher the stage you pass, the greater the number of each reward.
Buildings in Revelation of Maya
- Portal – Enter the next level.
- Typhoon Totem Tower – Consume 10% of all troop slots’ troop amount to occupy this building. Deals damage equal to 40% of the target’s maximum HP when attacking at this level after occupying this building.
- Poisonwood Totem Tower – Reduces all troop slots’ troop amount by 5% for each 1 fog(s) dispelled when this building exists. This effect will disappear when any fog around this building is dispelled. Consume 10% of all troop slots troop amount to occupy this building, occupying it offers you points.
- Crescent Totem Tower – Consume 10% of all troop slots’ troop amount to occupy this building. Increases all troops’ attack, defense, and HP by 25% after occupying it.
- Mayan Camp – Recruit one of 3 troops to battle.
- LifeStream – Restore a certain troop amount here.
- Mayan Calendar Stone – Get a random Buff.
- Mayan Market – Get Runes and Buffs by spending Mayan Gold here.
Tips based on experience
Common Tips:
- Choose 5 of your best generals. The important things are their basic attributes, Skill Books, specialties, and ascending attributes. And they would better have March Size buff.
- The best troop is Siege Machine to deal with Maya. You can select the following troop tiers:
- 1000 Mounted Troop
- 1000 Range Troop
- 1000 Ground Troop
- All the rest are Seige Machines
- Select “Logistic Supply” at the beginning. Restart the game until this card shows selection.
- If there are no better options, choose Siege-related buffs whenever possible.
- “Triple Lines“, “Main Force Suppression“, “Art of Commanding“, “Field Hospital” “Unstoppable Force“, and “Adaptation” are really helpful buff cards. In practice, however, the cards you can choose are random, so you need to read the buffs on the cards you are offered and choose the right card for your situation, or start over.
- The Mayan Market will only appear in the early stages. So if there is a market, spend as much Mayan Gold as you can on buff cards and Runes.
- Don’t take the “Desperate Measures” and “Hand of Death” buffs, because you can’t restore troops if you take them.
- When recruiting troops at Mayan Camp, be sure to check out the details of the specific formations, as each general may have a different unit structure. Try to choose troops with more Siege Machines.
- The “War Zealot” card seemed to work well when picked up early but didn’t work well when picked up late. Because its effect depends on the stacking of victories.
- Use as many Runes as you can.
Clear Levels Tips:
- Don’t occupy any Totem Tower and don’t dispel the poisonous fog, because it will lose troops. While they do have scores, they are not cost-effective for players who want to clear levels.
- Clear the fog around Poisonwood Totem Tower as soon as possible and destroy it to avoid further troop damage.
- You only need to kill the Mayan High Priest on each level to advance to the next level, and no need to waste troops to kill the Mayan Warrior and Mayan Guard.
High Scores Tips:
- My advice is that Triple Lines is a valuable card. If you haven’t gotten the card after level 6, start over. It is better to get this buff card early and as many as you can, because the effects of this card can stack up to 1000%.
- Save up your Healing Runes and Recovery Runes for the later stages. Make sure you have as many Healing and Recovery Runes as possible at levels 18, 19, and 20.
- The number of your remaining troops affects your final scores, so you need to heal and recover as many troops as you can in the level 20 stage before you kill the final Mayan High Priest.
- In addition to the Mayan High Priest, level 19 also has a large number of Mayan Guards. You have to kill as many of them as you can to get more scores.
- If you want 10k+ scores, you need to score at least 5,000 as soon as you enter level 20. Therefore, please kill all Mayan before level 19.
- Typhoon Totem Tower和Poisonwood Totem Tower. There are also scores for occupying buildings. If your buff is good and you don’t need to worry about troop depletion, consider occupying Typhoon Totem Tower and Poisonwood Totem Tower.
- Under the situation of good basic attributes, you don’t need to take too many attack buff cards, you can mainly take cards that increase Siege Machines’ HP and Defense.
(The following picture is my Epic Buffs when I got 10k+ scores.)
