‘Design, Build, and Break’
“We operate on a ‘design, build, and break’ philosophy, rapidly identifying and capitalizing on game industry and technology trends, focusing on quick iterations to refine our offerings based on real-world feedback.”
It isn’t about spending so much time on perfection as studios who do that tend to be passed by more agile developers. Get a great product or update out asquickly as possible, gain and listen to feedback, polish and iterate. You can quickly then pivot if things aren’t working, and moonshot if things are doing well,” said David.
Yaoqi Guo values clarity and brevity, seeking to simplify complexity into easy-to-use designs that bring value to users, and strives for excellent in all that he does and applies constant cycles of reflection and review of his experience in order to improve what he does.

Insights on Game Development, UX, Team Management, and New Projects
What strategies does TGI use to stand out in the competitive mobile game market?
At Top Games Inc (TGI), we stand out by quickly adapting to market trends. We understand our community deeply and focus on high-quality game development. Under CEO David Guo’s vision, we prioritize user experience, innovative gameplay, and community building.
We follow a ‘design, build, and break’ approach. This means we quickly identify trends in the game industry and technology. We focus on rapid updates based on real-world feedback. It’s not about perfecting every detail. Studios that take too long often get left behind by faster developers.
Instead, we aim to release a great product or update quickly. We gather feedback, make improvements, and adjust as needed. If something isn’t working, we can pivot quickly. If it’s successful, we can push further.
What role do you play at Top Games?
I primarily oversee all departments across the company and have a strong interest in emerging technologies. I am dedicated to driving innovation through technology to create more valuable digital products, not limited to the gaming sector. My goal is to contribute to the long-term and sustainable development of the company.
Evony, is a hardcore war strategy game, are you considering exploring other game types?
While Evony remains our flagship product, Top Games Inc. (TGI) is exploring other game types. We want to diversify our portfolio and meet market demands. Our goal is to offer games for both hardcore and casual players. Recently, we launched a match-3 puzzle game called Aquarium Crush. In this game, players collect rare fish and decorations to enhance their aquariums. Since its release, Aquarium Crush has received positive feedback, with a store rating above 4.7.
